Signal Flags was started by songwriter/Lead Guitarist/Vocalist John Giaccone in Seattle. It’s a collaboration of like-minded musicians from various cities rooted in classic rock, they implement their idea's originally and thoughtfully. many of their songs are co-written by John and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter, Mitchell Brasch.
Their first record, 'Conversations With Signal Flags' employed asheville, nc musicians Dan Wedge and Chris Burbach to fill out the band. The DEBUT album is a mashup of rock ‘n roll SOUNDS from the 60s - 90's (hard rock, garage, southern rock, 70’s Gold, psych rock and a sprinkle of punk) put in a blender and served back fresh.
the partnership between Giaccone and Brasch continued AND Their sophomore release, 'Steak And Shake' extends the metaphors of the previous record - exploring the crux of rock and roll. the ALBUM IS A NOD TO the idealism of the 60s AND the ESCAPISM of the 70s with a punk rock attitude. recorded at london bridge studios in seattle along with local musicians doug patterson, dave tingley and ben kent.
Their THIRD ALBUM, “BANNER DAY” was recorded at SOUNDHOUSE STUDIOs in seattle WITH LEGENDARY PRODUCER/ENGINEER, JACK ENDINO AT THE HELMS. joining john and mitch were musicians matt payne, brian wright, doug patterson, joel sanchez, orin henselyn and country dave harmonson.
they’re songs received airplay on KEXP, KFOG & whfr and they continue to perform live in the Seattle and PNW.
